Arena ladies shine at the XC relays at Goodwood

Our ladies rose to the challenge at this weekends cross-country relays at Goodwood Country Park.

The team spirit and enthusiasm of the Arena women is second to none and was shown in abundance. The effort shown by each and every athlete was there on display for everyone to see and we couldn’t have asked for more from our ladies.

We should also like to mention and offer a warm welcome to Katie Wright and Lucy Anderson for their first Arena XC outings and I’m sure that they will now be a regular to this having felt the warmth from the rest of the team. Our thanks also to Patrycja Wollnik and Brigitte Groves for running and to Fiona Jamie for running, driving and helping to organise the ladies at the event. A big thank you as well to Kirsty Parker for stepping in at last-minute.

Now to the results………Well looks like our ladies had a bit of a field day out there.

Congratulations to Maisie Lilly, Emily Proto and Julie Briggs on their senior gold.
Well done to Katherine O’Hara, Rebecca Knights and Dani Tarleton for the V35 gold.

Our Arena ladies also achieved V45 gold with Jenny Hughes, Caroline Wood and Tara Shanahan.
Our V55 team were also fantastic in placing first with Chris Naylor, Anne Miners and Jackie Rymell taking the spoils here.

A really great effort from one and all and let’s hope this set’s the ladies up for a successful cross-country season.

The first league race of the season is on Saturday October 14th back at the Goodwood Country Park with the women’s race at 1.30 and the men at 2.30.
