In the Women’s standings the Arena ladies are still looking very strong after 3 races with no less than 5 of our ladies in the top 8 with the top 3 all coming from Arena 80.

2nd – Dani Tarleton who is always up there and looking good with 15 pts
3rd – Rebecca Knights who is new in terms of the HCC this year but showing so much potential and great to see her in amongst it all with 39 pts.
The other Arena ladies to mention in the top 8 are Jenny Hughes in 7th place with 74 pts and Nicky Yeates in 8th place with 85 pts.
Drilling it down further, those that have completed two races are also featured in the top 20 where again Arena are represented by another four athletes. Juliette Roberts is in 14th with 21 pts; Angelina Smy is in 18th with 59 pts; Isobel Muir is in 19th with 63 pts and completing the top 20 is Jo Philimore with 66 pts.
The Women’s Masters table looks even more healthy for Arena 80 with four in the top 5 after 3 races.

2nd – Dani Tarleton chasing down on 8 pts
3rd – Jenny Hughes having another top season with 35 pts

On to the Men and we have no member who has completed 3 races to date. After 2 races we have five men represented from Arena 80.
The highest place of these is by the very in-form Richard Clayton who is in11th place on 22 pts. thereafter we have in joint 15th Al Silvester and James Dicks both on 34 pts; 18th Anthony Snelling on 39 pts; 20th Michael Barker 47 pts.
In the Men’s Masters after two races completed we are represented by Dan Vaughan in 6th place on 13 pts.
What do these results all mean in the team standings? With the strong showing of our athletes right across the board and those scoring crucial points for the club, Arena 80 are doing extremely well with the team currently sitting in 1st place with 3 wins out of 3 races = 3 points. Lewes are still pushing hard in 2nd place with 3 second places after 3 races and sit with 6 points. Completing the top 3 are Haywards Heath with 15 points.
Well done to all of our members who have turned out for the blue vest and given Arena at least a shot of retaining the trophy. There is still a long way to go and we still need all of our athletes to do their part. With three races remaining it is still al to play for so we need the hard work to continue for a little longer.
