The ladies run riot at the Masters Cross Country Championships 2017.

It was another haul of ye old bounty as the ladies took home the gold at this weeks Masters XC Championships held at Lancing. It was a very cold and frosty course with those big hills and some slippery surfaces to contend with but our ladies were outstanding on the day.

In the O35’s category
Dani Tarleton placed 1st in a time of 27.27 (and 3rd overall) to take the first gold of the day and with Rebecca Knights placing 8th and Juliette Roberts placing 14th, this gave the ladies 1st place for the O35’s team gold.

In the O45’s catagory
Caroline Hoyte powered her way round to take 1st place (and 1st overall) in a time of 26.08 to take the individual gold with Tara Shanahan placing a fine 3rd spot (5th overall) in a time of 28.06 to take the bronze. With Caroline Wood taking an excellent 5th place in a time of 29.13 this gave the ladies 1st place for the O45’s team gold.

In the O55’s category
Jenny Hughes continues her fine form carried over from 2016 to place 3rd and take the bronze home in a time of 32.15.

With fourteen of our ladies turning out for this, it really was a fine day for them all and just shows how strong the bond is between our ladies. Congratulations to them all on such a wonderful day for the club.
