There have been 17 races so far this year for the club’s Super Series challenge and there is one more remaining which is the age graded Brighton & Hove parkrun event. We are looking for a record Arena turn out for this one so add Saturday 16th December to your diaries as Arena showcase our club.
The men’s title is already done and dusted which was won way back on race 11 by the speed king Richard Clayton as he maximises his 6pts. Having just been pipped last year, Richard was on a mission for it this year and made his intentions very clear early on in this series. With one last remaining race I feel it’s not too early to congratulate Richard on a job well done and great to see him finally take the title.
However the places behind Richard are still up for grabs as there are no less than 4 of our guys pushing for the runner up spot and with it being an age graded event then anything could happen. The 4 athletes are in current order of placing, Anthony Snelling 11pts, Al Silvester 12pts, Michael Barker 15pts and Teo Van Well 18pts. Who will be a no show on the day and let it go at the last hurdle? This in itself is worth coming along for just to see the outcome.
The women’s table is still fairly close between our two ladies captains Tara Shanahan 8pts and Dani Tarleton 11pts. Again this could be a vey close race if both turn out for this one but what a credit it is to see both of our captains at the top of the table.
The third place lady is Caroline Wood and with this being age graded then this one could play right into her hands in terms of points as she sits currently on 15pts.
There are still so many points to be had from both the men and women and places could and will change on this last race. I’ve added the link below so you can see the full tables and to see where you currently sit. It is possible that you could move up some 20 places all going right in the day.

The current Arena record turn out for a race is 73 so we are looking to see if we can improve that one. We are also looking to get a new class of 2017 club photo and would be lovely if you were there to be a part of it. Needless to say that this is also the day of the Arena Christmas Party so what a great way to start the day off.
Our biggest thanks to Daniel Cartledge for organising the races and for all his efforts in getting the results added and the tables updated.
The Super Series challenge for 2018 will be scaled down to 12 races incorporating 6 races involving the Harvey Curtis Cup plus 6 of our own club races. More details to come in due course.
