The Men’s 5k club record is looming. Another improvement.

It seems that if your name is Richard and you run the Kings Head Canter 5k then you have more reason than most to do well.

With that in mind we must congratulate Richard Clayton on last Monday’s KHC 5k time. Richard’s time of 16.21 catapulted him up from 4th place to 2nd place in the men’s 5k club records. He is now only a mere 7 seconds away from the top spot which is currently held by another Richard, that being Richard Burgess-Gamble who also got his 5k record at the KHC back in 2013 with a time of 16.14.

For Richard Clayton it’s his just rewards after a cracking season and for all the hard work he has put in over the summer months with is training and with a new baby in tow as well.

I’m sure that the 5k record will tumble sooner rather than later as the Arena men push themselves to be stronger and faster. If it doesn’t go this year than I am almost certain it will go next year.
