The parkrun series race 3 report from Al Silvester
Apologies for the slight delay in getting these results out. It was supposed to be my commute task this morning but I ended up sitting on the floor on a super crowded Southern Fail train.
Anyways, enough of my middle class problems, back to the nitty gritty of who scored what and who sits where in the Parkrun series.
For the women Caroline Wood scored fewest points with -1 by virtue of having the highest age graded result (+1 point) and also beating the existing Arena Age Graded record (-1 point) and the Worthing Parkrun Age Category record for VW55-59 (-1 point). Cracking stuff.
Caroline Hoyte finished with the second highest age grading (+2) but also beat the existing Arena Age Graded record (-1) and the Worthing Parkrun Age Category record for VW45-49 (-1). Tara Shanahan, also beat this record time so gets the -1 point to deduct from her +4 age graded finish.
Nicky Yeates was third highest (+3) but gained the Worthing Parkrun Age Category record for VW60-64 (-1). And the final bonus point deduction went to Lucy May Richardson who finished 8th (+8), but beat the Worthing Parkrun Age Category record for SW18-19 (-1).
That means in the overall standings at the halfway point of the series Caroline Wood sits in 1st place with 3 points, Tara Shanahan in second with 7p and Nicky Yeates with 12.
On to the chaps, and top age grading position (+1) goes to Marc Steene with an 80.85%; second (+2) to Dan Vaughan with 80.02%; and 3rd (+3) to Dave Robinson with 79.8%. No bonus points for the men this time around I’m afraid, but pretty good show nonetheless.
In the overall standings for the men at the halfway point of the series Richard Clayton sits in 1st place with 5 points, Dan Vaughan in second with 14p and Dave Robinson with 15p.
With 2 finishing position races and 1 age graded race to go they definitely don’t think it’s all over, and it isn’t until 6 month’s time! (Shit world cup gag, sorry)
The only other thing of note at this time is that a few (obviously cocky!) people have been asking me about what the prizes are, and I’ll send out an announcement on it soon I promise, but basically it will be parkrun clothing based. Everyone likes clothes right? Rich has already promised to pose in the Orange Parkrun Y fronts for next year’s club calendar. Calm down ladies.
As the proceeds from the purchased clothing goes back to the parkrun organisation its a win win for all parties. Anyways, that’s it from me.
