Ladies impress and make improvement to the club records

It was a double whammy of age grading club record improvements at Preston Park parkrun on Saturday 3rd November.
It came from two of our VET women who have both been in terrific form in 2018, Nicky Yeates and Caroline Wood.
Nicky came home as 7th lady in a time of 21.41 but that was enough to give her a VW60-64 age grading of 89.47%.
Caroline Wood came home as 1st lady which gave her an age grading as a VW55-59 of 89.41%.
Looking at the all-time age grading records for Preston Park, Arena 80 hold 1st, 2nd, 4th & 5th which are all held by our ladies and it’s only Richard Nerurkar who occupies 3rd place with 89.85% so it is possible that our ladies could eventually hold all top 4 places. Julie Briggs holds 10th spot with 88.16% meaning that Arena 80 (all ladies) hold 50% of the top 10 places, nice going ladies.
There was also a club improvement elsewhere that seemed to have slipped under the radar.
It was at the Hove Park parkrun back in August and it was that lady Tara Shanahan who made the grading’s with her 1st place for the women in a time of 18.27. This time gave Tara an age grading of 88.71% which finally clears her 4th spot of which has been sharing with Louise Vallier for quite some time. For the Arena web admin team, this was also good news as it now keeps it clean and tidy so thank you Tara for your good work here.
