After a number of attempts by many clubs and officials, we have sadly been unable to find a suitable venue for a 4th Sussex Cross Country League fixture on March 2nd. Our latest initiative for using the facilities at Ardingly College has come to naught in spite of the best efforts of officials from Lewes and Haywards Heath. Other venues have been explored over the last few months but I am afraid the joint needs of suitable courses and enough car parking to accommodate the large number of competitors who attend league fixtures have proved impossible to resolve.
As a result ALL 3 FIXTURES including what will be the final date on February 9th will count for BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM AWARDS. We will try to be able to present at least some of the medals at Bexhill and any which are not able to be presented on 9th February will be presented at the Road Relays at Christs Hospital on 6th April.
From a personal point of view, it is a pity that we will only have 3 fixtures in such a thriving league but the good news is that Goodwood have just agreed our 2 dates for next season so let’s hope the 2019 – 2020 season reverts to 4 fixtures.
