Arena 80 triumphant at the Sussex Masters XC at Coombes Farm
What a great day for Arena 80 at the Sussex Masters XC at Coombes Farm on Saturday 19th January.
A new course and the first XC event where men and women raced the same distance (8,000m). A beautiful, scenic 2 lap course with stunning views. Lots of uphill with a steep fast down hill finish. Well done to everyone who braved the cold to race for the club today…..with great team and individual success for Arena. Congratulations to Caroline Hoyte who was first overall and Julie Briggs who was second overall and with Dani Tarleton 3rd scorer they were the winning V45 team.
Individual medals for Juliette Roberts who came home with silver in the V35 category. Congratulations also to Caroline Wood who was second V55. The V45 B team placed 3rd with Tara Shanahan, Katherine O’Hara and Lorraine Hale all scoring. The V55 team also medalled placing a fantastic 1st with Caroline Wood, Jackie Rymell and Jenny Hughes all scoring.
Well done ladies – fantastic running! Congratulations also to the Arena 80 men who participated as well. Teo van Well was first Arena home, with Jim Watson, Craig Isaac and Touradj Derangi and Jim Roberts not far behind. Big cheer for the V60 men’s team who placed 3rd with Michael Miller, David Kemp and John Orden being the scorers. A strong performance too from Steve McNealy in the V50 age group.
Thanks to everyone that ran, bought cakes, put up tents, supported and marshalled.
