A new club record amendment from MIchael Rix

Preston Park parkrun, Brighton #301 – 09/03/2019
Another parkrun weekend and what a surprise another club improvement to the men’s parkrun records.
This time it come at Preston Park parkrun where a certain young man decided he needed to add himself to the club records as he hasn’t made his mark there. Having re-joined Arena again just a couple of months ago, Michael Rix has made it a habit to take on Arena’s club records. Michael has already made it into the Hove Prom age grading (4th) and Worthing age grading (1st) and today he put himself into the Preston Park age grading in 2nd place with an age grading of 81.71% with a t time 17.46 and 3rd place overall. Michael’s time of 17.46 was just 1 second away from his PB of 17.45 set way back in December 2016.
The new Preston Parkrun age grading records now read:
Age grading
1 Paul Gasson – 82.90%
2 Michael Rix – 81.71%
3 Marc Steene – 80.86%
4 Paul Arscott – 80.35%
5 Alan Silvester – 80.08%
Don’t forget next weeks (Saturday 16th March) big race is the second in the Arena club parkrun series races. This is an age grading points race so will generally suit those of an acquired age. Needless to say that these races are extremely well attended by the Areneez clan so club vests/tops should be worn if you have one. No doubt there will be another write-up next week declaring some sort of club record amendment or a club record has gone.
