A new Arena parkrun club record and two new improvement’s

It’s a belter out there this weekend and what better way to celebrate then to throw in a new club record plus a couple of improvements as well.
This year has been very much Timmy Gedin’s year with Richard Clayton training for the London Marathon next week, but as they say gone but  not forgotten. Richard Clayton who is on the last part of his tapering decided to stretch the legs a little and went over to Worthing parkrun. Well stretch his legs he did and came home in a staggering 15.53 and an age grading of 82.58%. This now pushes Richard up from 5th to 1st place in the club records plus 3rd in the age grading records for this course. I know Rich has been hanging to get sub 16 and wow did he do it. Fantastic boost for London albeit London has a few more extra miles added on to it but he must still gain some confidence from this.
Over at Bevendean this morning, which is not one of the easier courses to run, Rachel Burgess took to the hills and having taken a superb PB at the Brighton Marathon last week with 3:43:23, Rachel came home as first lady in a time of 23.51 to take her place in the club records in 5th spot.
Congratulations to both of our guys on making the club grade.
