Arena’s first priority race of the year – The Run Store Sussex Road Race Challenge

Brighton Phoenix 10K race
The first of this year’s priority race for Arena is fast approaching and we are asking our club members to put this down as a priority race for the club. If you can squeeze this one in your racing calendar, it would be very much appreciated.
There are five races in this year’s series which is being sponsored by the Run Store in Portland Road and this trophy was previously the Harvey Curtis Cup. Arena won the team trophy for the last three years. We would love to try to be in with a chance to be up there with the other clubs by being competitive enough to score some points.
Arena 80 normally get a very good turnout for this event which this year is being held on Wednesday 10th July at 7.30pm.
Starting at the Hove Lawns Brighton Phoenix 10K race is an out-and-back fast well-marshalled course that runs west towards Shoreham on the promenade. After Hove Lagoon the course meets Basin Road South (this will be closed). Following Shoreham Docks the race turns at Carats Café at 5km returning to the finish at Hove Lawns. This course is capable of producing fast times as it is flat and relatively straight so a big PB potential.
Places are filling up fast and it’s anticipated that entry will close early for this race so advisable to book your place as soon as possible to guarantee you place.
A big thank you to all who have already entered. This would be a great introduction race for many of our newer athletes to the club to really capture the true spirit of Arena 80 ac on a race day.
