Kings Head Canter 5K

Monday 25th August, 2025

Terry Avey (as Phoenix), Christine & Michael Gibbons with their free well-earned pint!

The Kings Head Canter is a real classic – a 5km race from Chiddingly to the Kings Head Pub in East Hoathly, where every finisher is rewarded with a free beer and a commemorative glass. Traditionally popular with Arena members, it always attracts a high-quality field.

This year’s race was won in an impressive 15:09, with Jim Watson finishing as first Arena home in 19:45. Arena also still proudly holds the women’s course record – Caroline Hoyte’s superb 17:10 set back in 2002.

Congratulations to our Arena runners who took on the Kings Head Canter 5K:
Jim Watson, John Orden, Caroline Wood, Michael Miller, Mark Stephenson, Michael Gibbons, Terry Avey,
and Christine Gibbons.

The race takes place every year on August Bank Holiday Monday – so pop it in the diary for next year. It would be great to see a big Arena turnout once again.

Success at London Tracksmith Twilight 2

Wednesday 27th August, 2025

Congratulations to Arena’s Henry Miller for clocking a new 5K track PB of 16:18 at the Tracksmith Twilight 5000 at Parliament Hill, London. A brilliant run – and a reminder of how valuable (and fun) track race nights can be.
