Arena Runners Claim Podiums and Medals Over Bank Holiday Weekend

Arena runners took full advantage of the bank holiday weekend with a series of podiums and medals across both the UK and beyond. We’ll kick things off in Italy.

Lynn Chislett Wins Medals at European Masters Championships

Lynn Chislett headed out to Catania, Italy with the GB Masters team to take part in the European Masters Athletics Championships Non-Stadia and came home with plenty of medals.

In Friday’s 10K, Lynn and the rest of the V60 team took team silver. Then it was onto Sunday, where she finished 4th V60 in the half marathon and was part of the GB team that secured bronze.

Arena Success at Worthing Run Fest Half Marathon

Also on Sunday was this year’s Worthing Run Fest with Arena fielding plenty of runners across the 10K and half marathon distances.

In the half marathon, a huge congratulations to Luisa Ramirez who continued a fine season with 1st female in time of 01:27:25. Anna Hinks came home as 3rd V35 in a time of 01:34:18.

Over on the men’s side of things, it was an Arena one-two in the V45 category with Al Silvester taking 1st (01:21:58) and Barry Pearson 2nd (01:24:10). That wasn’t the final gold, either. Adam Taylor’s time of 01:27:53 secured him 1st V50 and David Kemp took 3rd V65 with a time of 01:47:23.

Dan Stent Takes 2nd Overall at Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend

Also taking place over the weekend was the unique Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend. Taking in three events over consecutive days, the competitors are challenged to complete two 10Ks and a 10 mile race in the fastest time.

Two Arena runners took on all three events with Dan Stent finishing second overall with a total time of 02:43:47. Ryan Perrin also took part and finished 26th overall in a time of 03:36:21.
